Nepal Earthquake Relief: Give Light!

SOLAR POWER TO THE PEOPLE

Lighting up communities, one bottle at a time.

How much will you spend on lunch today? In a disaster zone like Nepal, $25 will help provide streetlights for a community devastated by the recent earthquakes.

In dark times, light brings hope.

Become a Giver of Light!

In Nepal, Ujyalo Foundation / A Liter of Light Nepal is working tirelessly to distribute basic supplies like food and water, but we know that for victims, LIGHT is a priority. The earthquakes in Nepal have left more than 200,000 people homeless - living in the open or under tents. When the sun sets, these communities are enveloped by darkness.

Liter of Light Nepal wants to build 8,000 lighting systems to make the streets safe again for victims of these earthquakes. This crowd funding initiative will help Nepal in its effort to reach this goal.

Liter of Light provides solar lights for homes and tents, but our unique solar streetlights make entire communities safer. In the Philippines, Liter of Light has provided more than 13,000 streetlights and almost 15,000 night-lights for victims of Typhoon Yolanda since 2013. Communities with our solar streetlights have reported a drop in crime and violence against women and children. This is why the UNHCR has asked Liter of Light to provide solar streetlight in refugee camps in Ethiopia and Pakistan.

Your donation goes further with Liter of Light.

Liter of Light Nepal and its volunteers use locally sourced materials and trains villagers to build and maintain their own solar lights. Because we don’t pay to import manufactured lights, your donations go significantly further. By training villagers to build solar lights, we provide them skills that can lead to jobs. Most importantly, our low-cost, high-quality solar streetlights will serve these communities reliably for years to come.

DONATE US$100 or more and Liter of Light Nepal will put your name on a lighting system that illuminates a home or street in Nepal
